How Do I change The headlight Bulbs on a 2007 Honda Civic?

I just did this. The low beams take 9006, the high beams are 9005. On the Drivers Side -- Loosen the battery anchor bolts to move the battery an inch and pull up the coolant overflow bottle (no tools on the bottle, battery takes 10mm deep socket). Change either or both bulbs that way. Bulbs have clip connectors (squeeze to remove) and a 1/4 turn retaining ring. Lefty loosey, Righty tighty.

The passenger side is another story. You can change the high beam easily by just reaching for it from above. The anti lock brake module is in the way of reaching the low beam from above -- do not attempt to remove it(anti lock brake module). Remove the Two most forward speed clips on the plastic inner fender on the passenger side at the fender lip. Pull back and reach up to change the Low Beam Bulb. Having a person as a %26quot;spotter%26quot; from above will help immensely.

Do not touch the %26quot;glass%26quot; on the new bulb. Your skin oil will cause a hot spot and blow the new bulb.

This is hardly a beginner job (passenger side). Your dealer will probably replace the bulb for you, at no cost if you bring a new bulb to the shop. Ours where I live does this service at no charge.

EDIT: Obviously Helper has never changed a bulb on a new style Civic.

Gio -- The coolant bottle is on the Drivers side -- that is the LEFT side of the car. It used to be on the right side pre-2006|||Get new bulb. Replace old bulb. Don%26#039;t get finger oil on new bulb.

If you can%26#039;t figure this much out, car repair is really NOT something for you.

Good Luck|||High beams/day light running lights are one set of bulbs, and the low beams are another.

Depending on how thin your arms are, the lights are accessable from underneath the hood; however, on the right side, you%26#039;ll have to slide the coolent container out of the way. Otherwise, you will have to take your wheels off and access the lights through the wheel well.

Once you get access to the light area, you gotta twist on the harness, then it should pop out, then you can replace the bulbs.

If you need to know which bulb size you have.. go here http://www.sylvania.com|||Take it to a Honda dealer

Why have you asked this question in Ford ?|||i really am fed up with people who waste our time with stupid answers, this is not one of those, it does sound like a relay, but to be obvious it would cost about 拢25-拢50 for an auto electrician to check out, they can leave it to you after diagnostic or get them to fix it every body has their job to do.|||buy a ford then ??

How do I change the headlight bulbs on my 2007 yukon.?

Open the Hood, locate where the bulb is and there is a plastic clip that must be pulled back on to relese the lock to remove the wires going to it, then you simply twist the round perferated piece that holds the bulb in place.

The Bulb has a rubber O-Ring around it to seal it from water getting in it may be very tight, wiggle it from side to side as you pull.

They are not bad to change. It is a bigger pain to get at many of them.

Don|||Lift hood and locate the two removable pins in the composite headlamps. Pull them up and out. Changing headlight bulb 2001 cavalier?

how do you get the actual headlight unit out so you can change the bulb? i thought there was supposed to be clips but i dont see them anywhere..|||most likely, you can grab the unit from the back and twist it out. instead of the entire unit coming out, just the bulb should come out and replace the bulb. keep in mind, if it is a halogen bulb, DO NOT TOUCH THE BULB ITSELF WITH YOUR FINGERS. the oils on your skin react with the coating on the bulb and cause it to burn out.|||Refer to the owners manual, it should be mentioned there. In case you do not have a manual, you can visit GM website and download it from there|||no clips just remove the two bolts on top, thats all that holds the headlamp assembly in|||You don%26#039;t need to get the headlight unit itself off the vehicle.

Open the hood, and look at the headlight setup inside the hood. There might be a plastic cover over it. Carefully remove that if there is one. Then you can open the lamp socket carefully by turning it so it disengages from the other portion of the plastic clip on the other half of the socket (thats the part that%26#039;s mounted to the reflector ). Then you can pull the headlamp bulb out of that socket by pushing on it slightly and turning it .

Then go to a parts store and buy a bulb. They%26#039;re probably around $6-10 dollars.

Then put the bulb in the socket, turn it to lock it in, and then replace the socket in the mounting.

That%26#039;s all there is to it! No need to pull out the entire headlamp assembly! Use caution, though, the lamp socket can get hot very fast!

If you%26#039;re still not sure how to do this, go to a Kragen auto parts or pep Boys. Sometimes they%26#039;ll do it for you at no charge, since it is a very simple replacement.|||you have to loosen up the whole light assembly and maybe even take it out until you can get your hand in there and get the bulb out.

How do I change the headlight bulbs in a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

I believe those are the same as my 2000 jeep grand Cherokee. When you pop the hood and look down at the light there is one screw in the middle unscrew that it should be a really long screw with threading only at the bottom. Once that is out you have to grab both sides of the light and pull straight out to pop it off it%26#039;s ball joint. This has proved difficult for me and I have been unable to actually get the light off. If you are able to get the entire light case off you then can take the headlight bulbs out and replace them. Good luck|||changing the bulb you will need to remove the small 7mm long bolt and then use a good size screwdriver to pop the head light housing from the hold down clips. put the screwdriver behind the housing and then pry using steady pressure good luck on your repair...|||Jiggle the handle.|||open the hood and remove the plastic top cover above the light and twist the outer ring on the headlight and then pull out bulb when puting in the new bulb do not touch the bulb with your fingers use gloves because the oil on you fingers will heat up the bulb and burn it out with in 2-4 days

I work at a Volvo dealership and we don%26#039;t charge any labor for light bulbs.|||ok, it should not be more than $15.00 according to autozone.com. You might be able to get it for less than that if you do not mind shopping at Wal-Mart.

Here is the link:

Hamada

Well for Labor, yes that is fair, considering it should not take more than 15 minutes (maybe even less than 5 minutes). At that rate your hourly rate would be at least 40/Hr. Now is that fair? Sure a garage station would charge him at least double, but they have expenses too. So make the whole thing for $25 for parts and labor.

Hope that helps|||I think if I were doing it for my boss, I would not charge anything for the labor. Let him pay for the parts, but it never hurts to do a favor for the boss.|||Bulbs are about $20.00 to $25.00 each. Dealerships usually have two different labor rates, they charge a lower labor rate for easy things such as bulbs, or a battery, or an oil change, menu pricing i guess you could call it. Anyways I%26#039;m a dealership volvo tech and two headlights parts and labor should run about $75.00. Of course different areas of the country have varying prices i%26#039;m sure.

Does anyone know how to change headlight bulbs on a bmw?

I have a 2000 BMW 323i|||I just changed it myself and it%26#039;s relatively easy. Look for the gray part and twist it counterclockwise. Don%26#039;t twist the light bulbs or the wires but almost the whole thing. It should come out easy. Be careful taking it out if it was recently on because it%26#039;s going to be hot. If it%26#039;s broken then never mind it and wiggle it out. Insert the new headlight bulbs but don%26#039;t touch the glass because you will decrease the life of the bulb. Make sure you don%26#039;t lose the rubber seal on the way in because that%26#039;ll get some water in possibly burning it out or fogging up the headlight hence decreasing visibility. You should be good to go.|||You need to open your hood. and behind each headlight, you%26#039;ll find either, a cover that you%26#039;ll have to twist off to get to the headlights, or, you%26#039;ll find the bulbs right away. you%26#039;ll have to twist the bulbs out once you get to it, and pull them out, and then unhook it from the plug. and replace them. You can buy bulbs for like $10 at any car accessory store, Pepboys, Autozone, CAP, NAPA, etc..

Living in Washington, you find your lights are on a lot in the rain, etc. Pop the hood and you will see the wells where the headlights are located. It%26#039;s pretty straight forward, no tools are required, but it is a knuckle buster. In the well you will see either a black or white plastic part that has a wrapped electrical cable coming from the back. The part is a 3%26quot; diameter and cylindrical in shape. It appears like it is attached to a sheet metal piece. (and it is) Get a hold of the part with your hands and turn it counter-clockwise. If you can%26#039;t turn it with your hands get a large vice grip, but dont over squeeze on the vice grips you don%26#039;t want to break this part. Once you have the part loosened, (about a quarter to an eight of turn will move it out of its locking grooves) just pull it carefully straight out. Be careful the bulb is in this tube. Carefully pull the bulb out. Insert the new bulb, position the tube back in its hole, turn it clockwise and that%26#039;s it. The one by the battery is a little harder. I have had to remove the battery to take out the piece on a couple of occasions

The oil on your skin will make it overheat and burn out prematurely.|||Have a look in Chilton%26#039;s Auto Repair manual at the public library if you want to get the whole story with pictures. How do I change the headlight bulbs on my Vauxhall Corsa?

I have an L Reg 1994 Vauxhall Corsa.

Can anyone tell me how to change the bulbs in the headlights?

Thank You :)|||To change the headlight bulbs, you need to disconnect the multiplug on the back of the bulb first. These just pull off but are ridiculously tight (don%26#039;t pull too hard because the headlamp mounting clip will shatter and the headlamp will flop about). Try to hold the bulb itself while you pull this off (squeeze the bulb through the rubber cover surrounding it). Once disconnected, remove the rubber cover.

The last step is to move the wire clip that holds the bulb. You should see two bent wire rings above the bulb, push in and to one side to unhook and then the bulb drops out. The bulb will only go in one way so make sure the locating tags are the right way up (large tag to the top). Don%26#039;t touch the glass of the bulb with your fingers as it will shorten its life.

If the mounting clip breaks, they cost very little from a Vauxhall dealer and just need the headlamp removing to replace them.|||your new cars under the hood you have two locks u pinch both at once and twist counter clockwise to unlock then bulb should just pull out use a rag on the new ones to keep clean oil from your fingers can blow the new one when it gets hot

How do I change the headlight bulbs on a Jeep Cherokee, 1994??

Can anyone help? I cannot gain access to the rear of my Jeeps headlights so as to change the bulbs. There must be an easy method or do I have to take apart the complete housing?|||It`s a long job, all done from the front of the car. There is no access from under the bonnet to the back of the light housings

You need to take off various bits of trim including the dummy side light/indicator. Take off the trim around the light, this will give you access to the screws that hold the light unit in place. Carefully remove the %26quot;bezel%26quot; as it`s called and the light unit will be free to take out. Take care with the lead to the side light , the main bulb is held in place by the %26quot;usual%26quot; spring clip. When you put it all back together make sure that the lights work BEFORE you put all the trim back, it`s very easy to dislodge the side light bulb!

The procedure is covered in detail in the Haynes manual.

I`ve done this job several times, and it still takes me at least 30 mins to do !

By the way I use 130/100 watt bulbs ( no problem with MOT or the cops !)|||no problem, Jeep owners are a bit like bikers,we look after %26quot;our own %26quot; !

Changing headlight bulb in 2000 chevy cavalier?

I%26#039;ve removed the two screws that hold the headlight assembly in place. According to the owners manual it should come out. It still feels like there%26#039;s a screw holding it in. Anybody know what to do?|||Once you remove the two bolts that hold the headlamp assy you should be able to pull the assy foreward. These two bolts are the only thing holding the assy in place.Best of luck.|||Its not just stuck like these guys say. It is held in place in another spot. I broke it by listening to these clowns. Master mechanics..... yeah ok.

|||This is exactly why you should NEVER go to a dealership. It is IMPOSSIBLE to remove the headlight in the manner he states without breaking it. You must put a screwdriver down from the top to unclip the side light (use a flashlight to see). The side light pulls forward and the main light pulls up.

|||After you unscrew the bolts holding the assembly the screwdriver goes down a hole in the top of the assembly. Use a flashlight to see. Push in the clip with the screwdriver. The side light pulls forward and the main light pulls up. I just finished doing it and it works great if you know how

|||I own a shop, and have ran into this before. Its just stuck, and can be a pain to get it out. Try spraying some WD-40 around the assembly, and let it sit for a while. Grasp the assembly, and give it a quick yank forwards, and it should come out, but I have seen them break before the would come out. Also; Look closely around the edges of the assembly, and even run something thin around it to make sure something else isn%26#039;t broke and/or fell down obstructing the removal.

Having trouble changing headlight bulbs in2002 Chrysler sebring! Any help out there?

Any way to do it without removing any other parts?!|||open the hood and reach in to the back side of the light, it will turn about a quarter of a turn to remove, it might get pretty tight but you can do it.|||I think you will have to take the front bumper off or at least about 3/4%26#039;s of it to take the unit out. If you want to just take the bulb out reach behind the headlight and turn the ring around the back of the accual light, then pull the ring out with the light and unplug the light from the power cord. I have never looked at a sebring but all the other cars i have looked at are this way. I took one of the head light units out of my car just 1 1/2 weeks ago and i had taken the bumper almost completely off. The bumper is the only part you will need to take off but you might have to turn your wheels in towards the car on the side off the bumper you are taking off to be able to access some screws and/or bolts above the tire, but only if you want the entire unit out. Hope this helps.

Does changing the standard headlight bulbs with xenon bulbs have the same effect as converting to hid kits?

no it doesnt. the xenon bulbs have a small blue effect but they do not light up anywhere close to an hid light will also the hid kits are made to burn hotter but to give you a certain scatter of light so that it wont be to blinding for drivers coming at you you or infront of you. the xenon will blind other drivers it will be like having your highs while your lows are on. if you can get teh hid kit go with that its better and safer for everyone. had the xenons on a crx and the hid kit on a civic sedan. huge difference.

I don%26#039;t really want to have to pay for a garage to do it either.|||well gemma its not that hard there will be a water proof cover and then a metal spring clip holding them in but if this is a bit out of you league then simply take your vehicle to any halfords shop and the nice guy behind the counter will usually change them for you if they are not to busy and they wont even charge|||You will see a sticking out thing on the back of the headlights with an adjuster wheel on the back of it, there is a metal clip below this, pull that out and the plastic cover behind comes off the, bulbs are behind there.
