When you open the hood, there will be two clips behind the headlight that you pull straight up to remove. There might also be one bolt that you have to undo. Then you will be able to pull the whole headlight out of the car. Untwist the socket that the wires go into and pull it out. You will see the bulb. Just pull it straight out and push a new bulb in. Don't touch the glass of the bulb or the bulb will burn out when you turn it on because of the oils on your skin.

Try not to touch the bulb and perhaps purchase bulbs that come with a 1 year warranty that way when it does blow you can get a replacement for free. I usually purchase 3 packs of cheap bulbs for about 25 dollars a piece, that way when it goes and I know they will I have a pair in my car if I'm traveling long distance and a pair in my garage so I can change them as soon as they blow. It's a bit of an inconvenience but that's what you have to do sometimes in order to have nice lights for a decent price.

There is this little book that you will find in the glove compartment. It is called the Owners Manual. In it are instructions on how to replace a headlight bulb.

The user manual makes changing the light bulbs seem much easier than it really is. The hardest part is moving that pin out of the way that secures the bulb. First glance at the manual to figure out how to move any of the obstacles out of the way (it was mentioned in a previous post). Next disconnect the power wires from the back of the light fixture, and remove the weather-proof circular rubber cap. A lot of torque will be required to twist off the cap if its the first time taking it off. I just used my fingers as a lever to loosen it a little at a time making my way around the cap until it was easy to twist off. Next is the tricky part that might take a little patience to work out. There is a wire bar that secures the light fixture into place. Just push the wire in towards yourself and I believe that it is secured on your right hand side. While its pushed in, apply a little pressure to left to pop it open. DON'T unscrew the wire because it will prove near impossible to re-install. I made that mistake the first time. Next, simply remove the light fixture and replace the bulb without touching it at all. After that, simply put it back in. Secure it in place by pushing the wire back in place similar to how it was taken out. Put the rubber cap back on, and plug in the electrical wire. I have done this a dozen times now because I have one of the RSX's with the notorious light bulb burn out problem.

All car bulbs have what is called an ISO number. Once you know that you can go into almost any service station or mororist shop and ask for one.



Headlight bulbs are nearly always either H1, H11, or H5. That is the ISO number.



Not sure what your Ford has but the owners handbook should tell you.

Damned awkward, had to do it for my daughter. Depends which side it's on. If it is on the Battery side, remove the battery cover then you can actually get at the back of the headlamp fitting and pull it out. Believe me it is a real pain to get out and to get back in.

if u have the plastic headlight then from inside the engine compartment. its usually tight and cramped so the smaller a hand the easier it is to replace it. usually there's a black or grey collar and u just turn it and pull the bulb out. if u have the glass lamps then u need to undo the four screws on the front trim holding the light in and then take the trim off and the light and replace the whole light.

first unplug bulb, if there is a round plastic clip that the plud went into, twist it counter clockwise and remove bulb. if there is a rubber boot covering bulb, pull boot it will come off, you will see a piece of wire bent around and have a handle looking piece on it. it is hooked onto another piece of metal, unhook wire from other piece of metal and pull bulb out, reverse instructions for installations.

Once the hood is open you will see a round plastic housing right behind the light, it unscrews and the light comes right out, just pull the tabs back and the bulb comes out..pop in the new bulb, put the light back in the spot you unscrewed it from and tighten it up again by hand and there you go..

its actually really easy. all you have to do is pop the bulb out of its socket, its usually held in with a pressure ring that you just squeeze to re lease or twist out to unlock it, then you pull the bulb out of the socket and replace it then put the new bulb in the same way you took it out.

open the bonnit and look for some retaining bolts and undo them (theres usually 3 0r 4) pull the lens out a bit and it should simply be a clip where the bulb and wires go into the lens cover. once out push the bulb in and twist it to the left then replace with a new one (ask halfords which bulb it is, they are quite handy) make sure you dont lose any bolts! do not listen to people who tell you to go to a garage, have a go yourself coz its common sense. good luck

You can just pull the neck of the window wash bottle out there is a small clip to release it.

Job done no more wash bottle in the way.My car is from 2005 don't know if theis works on all.

there is 4 bolts under the bonet you also have to take the grill off the front but be careful becaue you might break the clips ive done that myself , once out you can accsess the bulbs

Open the bonnet and unscrew the black plastic cover from above the light mount

Remove the little cap in the wheel arch to gain access to the light

Unscrew the protection cap from the back of the mounting

Before removing any lightbulbs, wiggle the back of the one you think is the problem and confirm by looking at the front as to which is moving

CAREFULLY remove the metal clip from around the bulb by squeezing it either side of the bulb

Carefully remove the wiring from the back of the bulb

Take out the old bulb and insert a new one. It doesnt screw, it just sits - safely! Ensure it is square inside the bracket though

Replace the clip around the bulb

Add the wiring to the back of the bulb and test.
